The workshop

The machines behind the work

We own the kit and run it ourselves. That is why we can match a colour on a reprint, turn a rush job round and tell you straight what will and will not last outdoors.

UV print & cut · 1.6m wide

Mimaki UCJV150-160

UV-LED inks are cured by light the instant they land, so prints come off the machine dry and ready to cut, laminate or fit the same day. It prints and contour-cuts in one pass.

Eco-solvent print & cut · 64in

Roland TrueVIS VG3-640

Our widest Roland. Rich, saturated colour on flexible vinyl that stretches into curves and recesses, which is why it does most of our vehicle work.

Eco-solvent print & cut · 54in

Roland TrueVIS VG3-540

The 640's partner. Two Rolands means one can run a long vehicle job while the other turns out stickers and decals, and colours match between them.

UV DTF · 42cm transfer stickers

Inkfuse UV DTF printer

Prints tough, glossy transfers that peel and rub on with no background film. They bond to hard, awkward surfaces ordinary stickers struggle with.

  • Bottles & mugs
  • Glass & metal
  • Product branding
DTF · direct to film

DTF printer

Prints full-colour transfers onto film that are then heat-pressed into fabric. Fine detail, bright colour on dark garments and no minimum run.

Dye sublimation · 44in

Epson SureColor F6400H

Dye is printed to paper, then heat turns it to gas and fuses it into the fabric itself. The colour becomes part of the cloth, so it will not crack, peel or wash out.

Digital press · we run two

Xerox Versant 280 × 2

Two production presses for the paper and card side of a job. Running a pair means long runs do not hold up short ones, and there is always a machine free.

Why it matters

What in-house gets you

Plenty of sign sellers take the order and send the printing elsewhere. Here the person you talk to is the person at the machine.

One set of eyesThe designer checks the print and the cut, so mistakes get caught before fitting day.
Colours that matchReprints and add-ons come off the same machine with the same settings.
Quick fixesScraped a door or changed a phone number? We can remake one panel, not the lot.
Straight answersWe know what each material does outdoors because we print and fit it every week.
Materials

Right vinyl for the job

Most failures are the wrong material, not bad fitting. This is roughly how we choose.

Flat panels

Signs, boards and flat van sides take a durable, stable vinyl that stays put for years.

Curves and recesses

Bike tanks, bumpers and van recesses need a softer cast vinyl that stretches without lifting.

Short-term

Event banners and promo window graphics use removable materials that come off clean.

Hard wear

Menus, floor graphics and anything handled daily gets laminated for protection.
